Making A Difference by Making a Donation
A group, family, or even a single person can usually afford to help give every needy family in Whatcom County a decent place to live. When viewed collectively, our tremendous local donors generate a great deal of the money needed to pay the bills, compensate staff and purchase land and building materials. Habitat For Humanity depends on your help.

Habitat for Humanity’s Cars for Homes™

Car donations help build homes.  Do you have an older car, truck, van, trailer, RV or boat taking up valuable space in your yard?  Your car donation will support Habitat for Humanity’s local and global mission of eliminating poverty housing and homelessness and save you the time and energy of finding a buyer.  By donating a car to our vehicle donation program, you can help Habitat for Humanity in Whatcom County build houses in partnership with families in need of a hand up, not a hand out. 

It is quick and easy to donate cars, trucks, boats, RVs, motorcycles, construction equipment and other vehicles- running or not!  Plus, you may be eligible for a tax deduction.  (Consult your tax advisor or the IRS for details.)

HE GIFT OF LAND - a gift that will keep on giving.
Do you own land zoned and suitable for building homes? One day, if you decide to sell all or part of it, you will be required to pay Capital Gains tax on it's appreciated value. We're a nonprofit charity. By either gifting to Habitat, or selling a portion of your land to us below market value, you can take a tax deduction of the value of the gift, tremendously offsetting your tax liability. In many cases, such a gift can eliminate the Capital Gains tax entirely, essentially costing you nothing - it merely goes to Habitat instead of the Tax Man. We can put you in touch with qualified investment professionals that will assist you in doing this the right way. Habitat for Humanity in Whatcom County cannot build homes without land. Our prayer is that God will touch the hearts of land owners to donate a building parcel today.
